Dale was born and raised in Peru, Illinois. Severely injured in an auto-accident at age 11, he observed, first-hand, the good that doctors are capable of performing, and it was then that he decided to become a physician. He chose his specialty after observing his first case in cardiac surgery.

Dr. Mueller and his wife, Beth, have three children-Lauren, Natalie and Nicolas, and his parents, Bob and Marge, still live in Peru. For fun, Dale likes to play basketball.

Best Part of Job
His greatest accomplishment as a physician, he says, has been to return to the place where he grew up and take care of his family and friends, and the best part of his job is seeing people get well.
